We are an awarding centre for The National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme (NICAS).This is a wonderful new scheme aimed at young people from 7 years up. More details can found by clicking on this link www.nicas.co.uk
Our wall is open to all competent climbers without the need for an induction, unlike some walls .We do however reserve the right to assess your ability informally . Plas Power climbing centre near Wrexham relocated from Chester in 2006 and is the biggest and most popular climbing wall in N E Wales with over 6000 sq ft of climbing with sections of wall to suit everyone from novice to expert.Climbing is what we do !!The centre is ideally located within 10 of Llangollen for anyone rained off the rock on Eglwyseg escarpment .
Climbing is one of the most natural human instincts and children have that ability shortly after or even before they learn to walk,sadly this abilty is often lost, in many cases no thanks to adults.
The 4 year old pictured below didn't need any directions he could JUST DO IT !and his mother and grandmother were astonished.

The superb natural light from our massive arched window makes bouldering in the cave great.
Climbing is still our most popular activity and we are open to everyone,however non climbers wishing to use any of the roped climbs must undergo a full induction under the supervision of one of our instructors.(see details bottom of page)
Our wall was designed to cater for everyone from the seasoned climber to the complete novice. We have created a user friendly facilty which includes Pea gravel flooring, a new idea for the UK (indoors anway) instead of big blue mats .We have imported this idea from America were it has proved itself in reducing ankle and lower limb injuries, what more its far more eco friendly than plastic and foam.
Thanks to to the new roof on our grade 2 listed building (which includes 18 Velux windows) our climbing area is bathed in wonderful natural light ,which when combined with the golden pea gravel give a real feeling of being outdoors.

Indoor climbing inductions
Adult inductions take place on most weekday evening from 6pm, however booking is essential.During your first training session you wil be taught all the basic skills required for top roped climbing on an indoor wall Your second session will be an assesment of the skill learnt during the first plus coaching in climbing technique.
All equipment required is included, all we ask is that you wear clothing that is intended for sport but not jeans or shorts.
2 x 2hrs sessions min of 2 adults @ £40.00 pp
Youth inductions are available at weekend and are intended to teach parents/guardians and youths *the basic skills required for top roped climbing on an indoor wall.Please note this is a youth induction were the youth only is climbing.,however at the discretion of the instructor it may be possible for the parent/guardian to climb towards the end of the session.
